And so it begins..
Again.
Registration for the Fall 2015 semester starts in a few weeks, so I have begun to think ahead (yet again). In case I haven't mentioned, I am Pre-Occupational Science. What does one do with an Occupational Science degree? Well I'm actually not to sure, as I will be immediately getting a graduate degree in Occupational Therapy. So I honestly have no idea what I would do with my undergraduate degree if I did not get my graduate degree. However, from my understanding my school has one of the more complex programs, also one of the top rated, but pretty complex. I am considered Pre-Occupational Science until I apply for the program and am accepted. In order to apply I must have a high GPA, the lowest accepted this past semester was 3.4 GPA I believe; I currently have a 4.0 GPA. As well you must have 60 GPA credit hours completed or pending completion by the time you apply. You can only apply during the spring semester and must apply by March. There are four core classes you must take and receive a B or higher, and only one of those classes can be repeated if needed. The core classes are: Psychology 200, Statistics 215, Biology 171 (Anatomy), and Biology 301 (Human Physiology).
While I took 13 credit hours last semester, due to my need for a remedial math class, I only had 10 GPA credit hours. This also prevented me from making the Dean's List. This has put me slightly behind. So to make up for this I am taking 18 credit hours this semester (the max without an override) and will be taking 3 credit hours during the summer semester. I have already registered for Anatomy, this way I can focus on one of the harder of my core classes without needing to divide my attention to other classes. I will be able to relax a bit come the fall when I can take just 15 credit hours. This will allow me to have 46 credit hours come the Spring 2016 semester and I will only need to take 14 credit hours worth of classes. Having already mapped out my next two semesters, I will have met almost all of my general education requirements come the time for my spring semester when I apply for my program. I will only need to take one core class that semester and what the university considers a diversity class. Meaning I will have 9 credit hours that I can just play around with in easy fun electives.
While I will be working my ass off this semester, come my next spring semester I will be taking it pretty easy. Just a year away until I am halfway to my degree! At that I have homework to do.
